The reason for the success of this district is the involvement and interaction of the laity. It has proved beyond any doubt that equipping the saints is the best method of spreading God’s word in our day and time - they are amongst the community.
The district has amalgamated all of its mission agents to act together under the auspices of the Mission Unit. As a result, they come together every August for a service, where food parcels and money are given to the needy and elderly. This service involves the Women’s Manyano, Young Men’s Guild, Local Preachers’ Association, Order of Evangelism, and Youth Unit.
A bursary and HIV and AIDS fund has been started for the disadvantaged in the district, and, because we recognise that material poverty leads to spiritual poverty, we have created an outreach to raise awareness that the first man God created was a farmer - our basic call is to till the soil.
